This document was divided into three chapters, chapter 1 is the final research report, which is complementary to chapters 2 and 3. Summary of chapter 2: the increase in the human population has generated the reduction, fragmentation and isolation of ecosystems . In Colombia these changes are evident in the Orinoquia, particularly in its most populated city, Villavicencio. These changes can favor insects considered pests, although there are also insectivorous bats that can provide services to humans by controlling insect populations. However, the presence and activity of bats may be affected by increased urbanization. Based on the above, it was proposed as a hypothesis that urbanization affects the use of space by the insectivorous bats of Villavicencio. Five sites with different percentages of built-up area were chosen and acoustic monitoring was used in each one. The number of terminal phases of insectivorous bats was counted. Each terminal phase indicated an attempt to capture prey by the bat, and thus indicated the quality of each site in terms of foraging. Insectivorous bats foraged in all sites, and contrary to what was expected, there is no evidence that the percentage of built area affected the foraging of insectivorous bats.eng
