For decades it has been determined that steroids play an important role in coordinating the activities of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonad axis, in addition to their activity in the control of multiple processes including mating and reproduction. The final reading was carried out on the LumiStat 4100 Plus device from Awareness Technology, Inc. ®. A blood sample was taken from each individual (n = 10) that was processed and analyzed every 40-45 days and for 8 samples. Plasma T levels were lower in females (0.01 to 0.35 ng / ml) and in males there were high levels from June to July (0.65 ng / ml), related. With periods of greater rainfall in the region that triggers the beginning of the reproductive season. E2 levels were higher in females (0.88 ng / ml), possibly associated with ovarian maturation and aromatase activity. While the males show decreases (0.1 ng / ml) for June-July, with a subsequent increase reaching a maximum value of 0.7 ng / ml. Cortisol levels increased towards the breeding season, being always higher in females (12.9 to 34.5 ng / ml).eng
