dc.description.abstractLos inicios de las revistas científicas se dieron por la necesidad de comunicación entre científicos, ya que los datos en que se basaban eran bibliotecas, laboratorios y trabajos de campo; se vio la necesidad de acudir a los resultados que sus colegas habían obtenido, de esta forma las revistas científicas surgen principalmente como medio de difusión de información de resultados de investigaciones realizadas por parte de los científicos, ya que era la forma en que la comunidad científica lograba recurrir a estas fuentes escritas, para basarse y apoyarse en esas experiencias y así poder avanzar en sus investigaciones , teniendo en cuenta que estas publicaciones debían ser de calidad, aparecen los pares evaluadores, quienes en su función principal debían establecer unos criterios de evaluación. Como consecuencia de lo anterior los investigadores comenzaron a tener prestigio según la revista donde se publicaran sus artículos. spa
