In this work is raised the evaluation and characterization of the soils of three representative geographic landscapes of the Meta department: Terrazas, Altillanura and Alluvial Plain of the Ariari River, strategically located in the Acacias-Guamal, Puerto Gaitán and El Dorado municipalities, respectively. On these landscapes, ten chemical variables were mainly taken into account: (pH), organic matter (OM), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), aluminum (Al), cation exchange capacity (CEC), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), potassium (K) and sodium (Na), taking these as indicators of the state and fertility of the different soils; The contributions of all these data were provided by the Terrallanos and Universidad de los Llanos laboratories, analyzes that were dated at intervals from 2014 to 2019. Their study includes an information treatment using the Box-plot technique, followed by the multivariate analysis technique. of Principal Components (ACP). For the landscape context were taken into account aspects of origin and evolution of soils, (pedogenetics) mineralogy, natural events, climatic factors and fluvial geomorphology the latter to understand complex dynamics in terms of distribution and formation of soils through the river plot. It was found that the most representative and influential variables in the three landscapes is the climate, despite the fact that the degree of weathering of the soils is directly linked to this factor conditioned by their chemical and physical characteristics; and geological age by other side will be responsible for indicating the evolution and mineralogical aspects that are expressed in the soil as a resume in a landscape setting of the department. with this it can be concluded that the Altillanura landscape (ALT) is the most evolved, followed by the Terrazas (TER) and finally the alluvial plain (LLA) of the Ariari river; consequently the relatively more fertile soils will be present in the LLA, followed by the TER and finally the ALT.
